Terms of service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you and Class4 Ltd, trading as findmybook.org ("findmybook", "we", "us"), of Castle Court, Winsford, CW7 3BS. By using findmybook.org, you agree to these terms. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
2. The service
findmybook helps readers discover books and allows authors or publishers to create public promotional pages with book details, search information and retailer links. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms and your plan.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
4. Author content and permissions
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, format and display it as needed to provide and promote your book page.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions for all text, cover images, retailer links, trademarks and other material you submit. Content must be accurate, lawful and must not infringe another person's rights. We may hide or remove content following a valid complaint or where we reasonably believe it breaches these terms.
5. AI and catalogue information
AI-generated search titles, descriptions and keywords, and information returned by third-party book catalogues, may be inaccurate or incomplete. These tools assist you but do not replace your review. You are responsible for checking and editing suggestions before publishing or relying on them.
Reader search results, cover images, retailer availability and external links come partly from third parties. We do not guarantee their accuracy, availability, ranking or suitability.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or to send spam;
- submit misleading, defamatory, harmful or infringing content;
- interfere with the service's security, probe it or scrape it at scale;
- circumvent account, usage or technical restrictions; or
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service except where the law expressly permits it.
7. Trial, subscriptions and payment
Each eligible book page starts with a one-month free trial that requires no card details. The advertised standard price after the trial is £12 per book per year, including applicable VAT where stated at checkout. The price, billing period and renewal terms shown at checkout will form part of your order.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your payment, billing, tax and cancellation mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, which form part of your order when you complete a paid checkout.
You may cancel a subscription at any time before its next renewal date and retain access until the end of the paid period. If you're not satisfied with a paid subscription, you can request a full refund within 30 days of payment under our refund policy. Statutory rights are unaffected. Contact info@findmybook.org with billing questions.
8. Retailer links and purchases
Retailer links take you to independent third-party websites. Purchases are between you and the retailer, whose prices, delivery, returns and terms apply. A retailer link may include an author's affiliate identifier. We are not responsible for a retailer's products, content or availability.
9. Our intellectual property
We own or license the findmybook service, software, branding and site design. Book metadata, cover images, author material and retailer branding remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of either party's intellectual property.
10. Availability and search results
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, a particular search-engine position, visitor level or book sale. Search engines and external catalogues control their own indexing and results.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach, non-payment, legal requirement, security risk or fraud. When a trial, subscription or account ends, associated book pages may be hidden and information may later be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. General
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a business reorganisation or sale.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to info@findmybook.org or Class4 Ltd, Castle Court, Winsford, CW7 3BS.
